Following the admonition of our leaders to get involved in online discussions and thereby help shape correct public perceptions about the Church and its members, MormonVoices is a rallying point for those wishing to add their positive voices to the chorus of faithful comments in critical online discussions. When public discussions on blogs, websites and news sites begin to focus on issues dear to us as Christians and members of the Church, we will send you a brief message via email or text, and help you know where conversations are surging and where your input could be most helpful. We will provide you with links, suggestions on how to educate yourself on issues, and recommendations on input that might prove helpful. You can then go online and, in your own words, help shape the positive image we all have of the Church and gospel we hold dear.

	CODE OF CONDUCT AND PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT As a member of MormonVoices, I understand that I will be participating in efforts to help defend The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints against misrepresentation and bigotry in the media and, by extension, other reputable groups or individuals of faith who are similarly harmed by incorrect statements by public figures. I understand that in this undertaking, I will occasionally be asked to join in a "Chorus of Voices" whereby I am made aware of public pronouncements where expressions of support for the Church would be helpful. I agree to participate in joining my voice with others to extend that support as much as my circumstances will allow, and in so doing, I agree to the following Code of Conduct: 1. In all public discourses, I will conduct myself in a way that follows the standards expressed in the 13th Article of Faith, and in the talk by Elder Hales titled "Christian Courage" (General Conference Address, 2008, http://lds.org/general-conference/2008/10/christian-courage-the-price-of-discipleship?lang=eng). 2. I will at all times, when helping defend the Church as a result of my participation with MormonVoices, endeavor to follow the Communication Guidelines published by MormonVoices at www.mormonvoices.org/communication-guidelines. This includes my personal commitment to be kind in my communications, and always endeavor to assume the best intentions of those we seek to correct. 3. I agree to use my real name, or one of the "handles" I have given to MormonVoices, in all public communications that are made by me as an extension of my participation in MormonVoices. 4. I will utilize reputable and documented sources in all of my communications, such as those listed at www.mormonvoices.org/recommended_sources. 5. I will stand up for the rights of individuals and groups of other faiths who are misrepresented or maligned in the media and by public figures, and at no time will I denigrate the faith of others. 6. I will separate my political ideologies from my religious faith and devotion, and will extend my efforts of defense to any prominent LDS figure maligned because of their membership in the Church, regardless of political persuasion, ideology, or national origin. 7. I will at all times publicly support the stated positions of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on matters of public import as expressed in General Conference addresses, Official Statements by the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve, and statements issued by authorized Church Public Affairs representatives. 8. At no time will I use offensive language in my communications in public venues in defense of the Church. 9. I will inform MormonVoices of public statement of concern by public figures and the media so that MormonVoices can track how the Church is represented in the media, can formulate official responses, and can inform other MormonVoices members of incidents where a "Chorus of Voices" would be helpful. I will inform MormonVoices through the email address report@mormonvoices.org 10. I will not at any time utilize my membership at MormonVoices to denigrate or thwart the public efforts of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, its leadership, doctrine or practices, or to help or sustain any of its critics or detractors such that the effectiveness of MormonVoice's efforts is weakened. 11. I agree that any contributions or submissions I make to MormonVoices are forever the property of MormonVoices, including but not limited to concepts, ideas, articles, papers, PowerPoint presentations, and similar "Works of Art" that result from my participation with MormonVoices. In so doing, I hereby and forever grant to MormonVoices the right to copy and distribute my work, with or without attribution, as the leadership of MormonVoices sees fit. 12. In all of my efforts to help defend The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I will obey all relevant laws and statutes, including but not limited to copyrights and decency laws. 13. I agree that I will notify MormonVoices leadership of any known violations of this code of conduct by other MormonVoices members by sending an email to abuse@mormonvoices.org. 14. I agree that if I decide in the future that I cannot abide by this Code of Conduct, that I will withdraw myself from MormonVoices and will immediately request MormonVoices leadership to remove my name from its roles. 15. I understand that my participation as a member of MormonVoices is predicated on my conduct and adherence to this Code, and that my failure to follow this Code of Conduct can result in my immediate termination as a member of the same. By submitting my information and clicking "submit", I hereby acknowledge that I have read and understand this Code of Conduct Agreement, and that I accept the same. I further affirm that all the information I have included in this application is true and complete to the best of my knowledge.
